Shared hosting provider SoftLayer expands its data center with Content Delivery Network

Shared hosting provider SoftLayer declared that it has launched CDNLAyer, which is a content Delivery Network. The company states that CDNLayer runs optimizations on content delivery, which helps increasing speed and reliability.

Basically, through multiple, geographically diverse server nodes CDNLayer runs software that organizes, stores, and streams web content. The content gets sent to the end-user from the geographically closest node instead of the main host server. This shortens the distance the data streams keeping it away from high online traffic, and decreasing retrieval time. CDNLayer features tools for improved management that enables user to make money of its content easily.
