The Planet states that the IT infrastructure management gets harder as it grows. Therefore, they needed to enforce their business with additional services. Touch Support is a good match for their need with a line of services including server technical support, administration, security controls and server hardening, virtualization, migration, monitoring and managed backups. Moreover, hourly server administration support is available for customers who need this service for one-time or custom requests.

The Planet, dedicated hosting company, has upgraded and expanded its Network Operations Center (NOC). Cisco Certified Network Associate (CCNA) designation requirement played an important role on this. Now, all NOC employees of the company are required to have the CCNA. Moreover, the staff is certified.
To get this designation, NOC technicians have gone through tests featuring install, configure, operate and troubleshoot routed and switched networks. Some of the team members have been awarded with more senior Cisco certifications.
CCNA, prepared by Cisco, is the industry-recognized standard of expertise for IT network professionals. Applicants should have a solid understanding of core network functions such as verification of remote sites in a WAN (Wide Area Network), of various network types and the basic decrement of security threats. The new packages feature new HP servers with Quad-Core AMD Opteron or Intel Xeon processors and the opportunity to contain up to 12 hot swappable hard drives. The company emphasizes that the new servers will improve price-for-performance value.
Layered Tech had acquired Fastservers.net in mid-April. These new server offerings have arrived within short period of time. The company is determined to be one of the significant rivals in the business.

Crucial Paradigm declared that Windows 2008 Virtual Dedicated Servers aka. Windows 2008 Virtual Private Servers hosting plans are available. The company claims that it is one of the first hosting providers to adopt the new platform.
There are two Windows 2008 VPS plans. First plan offers 35GB storage, 300GB bandwidth and 1GB of server RAM for an $80 per month. You can choose between the Standard, Enterprise and Datacenter versions of Windows Server 2008 for free. Second plan offers 70GB storage, 600GB bandwidth and 2GB of server RAM. It doesn’t tell whether Server 2008’s built-in virtualization features or with a third-party virtualization solution are used on its offerings. It says that it’s not possible to overload/oversell their servers since they use true virtualization technology.
